Can out of place tooth be fixed with veneers?
Q. Hi, I have one tooth that I feel ruins my smile. The tooth to the right of my front 2 teeth is slighlty set back and shorther than my other teeth. If I smile on a photograph it can sometime appear that the tooth is missing altogether as it does not run flat with the others. Can this be fixed with 1 single veneer or would all of my front teeth need reconstruction. I am a very nervous patient who does not have lots of money to spare so I would also be interested to know how long/painful the procedure might be and what sort of price I would be looking at. Many thanks.,
A. Hi I would think it should be possible to improve the appearance of the tooth with a single veneer. I would expect the cost of this treatment to be betwen £500 & £700. The treatment would involve an initial treatment appointment, at which the tooth would be prepared, and an impression taken. The prepared tooth would then be covered with a temporary veneer, whilst the impression is sent to the laboratory for your veneer to be made. Approximately a couple of weeks later, the veneer should then be fitted. For the preperation appointment, the dentist will provide local anaesthetic, in the same way as for a filling, so you should feel no pain during the procedure.
