Can my broken crown be built up again? Also how much will this damage my pocket?

Q. I recently banged my mouth and have chipped the crown on my front tooth. I am anxious about how he will fix it, and also the cost. Can a crown be built up again? Also how much will this damage my pocket? There is a slight ache in this tooth as well, is this due to the disturbance in the chipped crown? I am nervous to go to the dentist as I recently had a tooth surgically removed by students at a dental hospital and it took them 3 hours to remove it! Which was not a pleasant experience.

A.

The soreness you are receiving could possibly be from the trauma of the bang to your face, or alternatively it could be the start of an underlying problem. You may need to have root canal treatment before the crown is fitted.
The crown will need to replaced. Alot of dental prcatices offer sedation as an option if you are very nervous. If you are unsure, feel free to have a second opinion with another dentist about your options.
