Can I have a general anaesthetic for dental implants

Q. Can you be put under general anesthetic to have dental implants?

A. It is possible to have a general anaesthetic for the placement of implants. However the operation is performed very gently and usually requires only heavy sedation even for the very nervous patient. With this you feel very happy and do not recall very much of what actually happened. Sedation is also far safer than a general anaesthetic.
