Can i get a nice set of dentures on the NHS

Q. Hi,I am a 49 yr old female. I have always had yellow teeth as long as I can remember, I have one single denture and quite severe gum recession hence a lot of lose teeth. It would be my dream to be put to sleep and wake up with a fantastic set of dentures. I hate my teeth and my smile but cost is an issue. Should anything be available to me on the NHS? Thank you.

A. Hi many thanks for your enquiry, the treatment of choice for you would be to remove all the teeth and replace with fixed bridge work on dental implants, the cost of this type of treatment would be around £15000. the nest option would be to fix dentures into the mouth using mini implants, this would be a compromise as this would be a removable option but would make sure your dentures once in stay in. the cost of this approximately £5000. the final option would be to place a set of dentures in after a full clearance, this would then require you to have a second set of dentures made after 6 months once all the healing takes place. this treatment can be done on a private basis but should also be available on the NHS. i hope all this information is helpful
