can eating alot of ice be the reason for my gum swelling

Q. I noticed that my gums are swelling around the sides of my mouth. I eat alot of ice. Can this be the reason/problem? Thank you.

A. Hi, the gums are probably swelling due to gum disease. You need to see your dentist- who will probably recommend a hygienist visit. your gums may also bleed, which is a sign that your gums are inflamed- it is a reaction that occurs when the plaque and calculus has not been removed from your teeth and under your gums.
Ice will not affect the problem.
