Are wax moulds bigger than the dentures?

Q. Hi. I was womdering if you could help me. I have recently had all my teeth removed but wasnt offered immediate dentures so have gone without teeth for quite a while. I have had impressions made and have had the wax moulds done. How long does it take from that stage to actually having teeth? and are the wax moulds bigger than the dentures i will have because i couldnt close my mouth with the wax ones and they felt very thick. Thanks for your time.a>

A. Wax molds or bite blocks are used to register how your jaws are related to eachother.  The final dentures will be smaller.  Dentres normally takes about 5 weeks to make.
