After i had frenectomy treatment after that i had a gap in between my teeth what can i do

Q. HI, i don’t know if you can help but i had orthodontic treatment that i completed after three years in 2001. during which my orthodontist told me that a surgeon had to perform a frenectomy cutting the little band of tissue under my top lip. Since then my teeth have reverted back to the way they were. After recently getting in touch with her .. i told here the situation and she has refused to rectify it. I was a private patient so i paid £2000 for the treatment and another 800 for the surgery. I have since been investigating the surgery that she asked to me undertake. and apparently a frenectomy is used to allow the two front teeth to come together.. to close a gap. But i have studied photos of my teeth before the treatment and i never had a gap inbetween them .. at all. Do you know what i can do.. as it appears to me that she has taken my money and not done what she promised. Thanks

A. I can’t tell why you had a frenectomy at the start. However this isn’t a cure for relapse of your teeth. If you had a retainer it would prevent the teeth from drifting back into  their original position
