10 days after surgery I can not see the implant post, what can I do?

Q.
Hi,
My husband has the surgical phase of a dental implant 10 days ago. Is it normal to see no evidence of the implant post in the gum? He is worried that he will need to have the gum cut again when the crown is fitted to expose the implant itself.
Also, he was due to have a further implant but apparently the nerve was too large for this to be carried out. Does this mean there is no chance for an implant there? We are struggling to get answers from the implant clinic.
Thanks very much

Sorry this is just padding as I’m getting a message box saying the question is too short… I’m just concise!

A.
Hello
If the implant is fully buried then exposure is a normal 2nd phase of implant treatment before the tooth is fitted. If the nerve prevents implant placement your husband has the option of nerve repositioning surgery or bone grafting to rebuild the bone over the top of the nerve
Hope this is helpful
