would i get free dental veneers in the NHS

Q. Hi Julian, I’ve had a large gap in my front two teeth since I was a child, it’s about 5-6mm wide so it’s quite big. I was looking into getting Veneers but I’m not sure if they would make much of a difference with a gap that big. I don’t think I’d want my front two teeth to look much bigger either. What advice can you give me? I’m 18 and a student so obviously I can’t afford them right now but I’m not sure if I would get them free off of the NHS? Any help would be much appreciated.

A. Your problem is usually tackeled using a combination of orthodontics and veneers.  the gap is usually also associated with a thick band of fibrous tissue between your teeth that would need to be removed before treatment commenced. Sometimes brace work is all you need

Ever since i was born my teeth have always been discoloured. When i questioned my dentist about it he told me that i dont actually have any enamel on my teeth. What would be the procedure to sort this? could i possibly claim on the NHS or would i have to pay and go private? if so how much are we talking?
