Would I benefit from have a dental implant procedure in the future?
Q.
I’m trying to decide whether or not to have a root canal done on tooth #32, or to have it pulled and possibly have a dental implant done in the future. What are the cost comparisons, benefits, etc., to having one or the other. I have had several root canals done in the past. At my age of 50+, I really need to weigh my options. Root canals can be expensive but I’m not quite sure how much a dental implant will cost me. I have dental insurance that will cover half the cost. I just need some professional advice. I am really leaning towards having it pulled since it’s all the way in the back of my mouth. Please advise.

A.
The cost of the root canal will be significantly less than the cost of any replacement with an implant and so if the prognosis for the root canal is good this is usually the preferred option. The implant option maybe 4 to 5 times the cost of the root canal. Of course please seek the advice of the endodontist or your dentist before making any decisions

I hope that helps answers your questions?
