Would braces make the gum recession and TMJ worse?

Q. Hi, I am 27 and am considering braces since my bottom teeth and quite wonky. Although my teeth and gum themselves are healthy, for most of my life have had a clicking jaw joint. I have been using a mouthguard but it has done little to help me stop clenching my teeth. I also have sensitive teeth and some gum recession cause either by toothbrush abrasion or maybe the clenching of my teeth.I am looking for a dentist who may be able to help me with all these issues! Would I be able to have braces or would it make the gum recession and TMJ worse? If I get braces and my gum recession increases, is there a dentist who would be able to give me a gum graft to improve this? Kind regards

A. Please visit my website www.tmjpainrelief.co.uk and take a look at the list of symptoms and if you have these I recommend you book an appointment at my clinic to addres you tMJ issues.

If you are not suffering from these symptoms then I recommend you see an orthodontist that specialises in TMJ. I can recommend Dr Patrick Grossmann- http://www.patrickgrossmann.com/

Kind regards
