Violent marriage left me with broken teeth

Q. Hi rob. can you please advice me on what to do .I had a very nasty violent marriage many years ago and i ended up with a few teeth missing i was to embarrissed to go to a dentist and now i have a fear of them , i have 4 teeth on a plate and a few gaps and 2 broken teeth i would love to have a complete mouthful of teeth again but not on a plate, but i would also need sedation and i dont know where to go for thids or what sort of costing and if it is possible to have this done, please advice me or help me i am 41 and feel awful about me and need to feel good again. thankyou

A. Without a clinical exam I couldnt give a complete costing. The most likely scenario is that the result you want will not be covered by NHS treatment, it would however make your mouth healthy, improve  appearance and ( access permitting ) get you some treatment under IV sedation. the maximum fee for one course of treatment is £198, you might need  two courses of treatment if it takes 3- 6 months.

If you are interested in treatment unlikely to be applicable to NHS dentistry, I will try to give some guides to Private fees

A crown typically costs 350-500

A bridge fee usually is a multiple of the number of teeth missing + the number of support teeth
example a four tooth gap using one tooth at each end for support is a six unit bridge
4+ 2=6   6 x crown fee = £2100 to £3000
The supporting tooth roots would need to be healthy & strong

A single implant and crown complex £2000-2,500 inclusive of all additionals

An implant supported bridge  Four replacement teeth on two fixtures ( or 2x two on one )  £5-6,000

Intravenous sedation with anaesthetist variable charges between practice. We charge £145 per 1 hour appointment which is top end but the anaesthetist stays with the patient throughout. In some practices the dentist carrying out the work also acts as the anaesthetist or does the monitoring once a single dose sedation has been given.
