There is black round the gum line where dental bridge meets the gum. Is there a problem?

Q. about 3 years ag I had a dental bridge on the nhs I have noticed a black looking line around the gum line where the false tooth meets the gum – is this a problem? I am scared of pain having the bridge removed,
A. I think it is the metal of the bridge showing through but you should visit a dentist for a proper evaluation
