Can anything be done for gappy teeth in cosmetic dentistry?

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am 53 and had conventional orthodontic treatment to straighten my front teeth as a teenager. In recent years, my front teeth have started to move forwards and have gaps. I initially looked into orthodontic treatment but was told that it was unlikely to be successful due to ‘getting long in the tooth’. Is there anything by way of cosmetic dentistry that could done?

Is there a way to get my lower teeth lined up?

Monday, October 12th, 2009
Q.
My question is about my lower teeth, 4 to 5 of them are overcrowded but also some are kind of chipped but do not have a hole in them. Is there a way to get them to line up in every way?

I have 6 veneers and all of them are loose and beginning to rot?

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009
Q.
I had veneers fitted on 6 of my front teeth at the top and they are all beginning to come loose as apparently the teeth under them are beginning to rot (i only had them done 3 years ago). I have had to have one of these teeth removed completely (one right at the front) and am now having to wear a denture plate thing which keeps falling out when i speak and i cant eat with it in. I have not been able to leave the house or see anyone because i am so depressed and my gp has put me on anti depressants (not just because of the tooth – have lost loads of family recently amongst other issues and losing my tooth was the straw that knackered the camels back) . in circumstances like this where patients are upset about the way they look because of thier breast size the nhs sometimes do breast implants – is there any way of getting a tooth implant done on the nhs as i am a single parent and was made redundant a while ago and can’t go back to work as I have just been diagnosed with ME so i just cant afford much – is there anywhere that could help? besides – arent teeth cheaper than boobs?

Should i get my teeth removed?

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009
Q.
Hi i’m 15 years old and i don’t live in uk (i’m a student studying in sri lanka) but please do answer my questions :)i’ve been visiting so many dentists and orthodontist for consultations on braces and all of them tells me that i need to extract 4 teeth if i wanted to get braces done.. well..i don’t want to remove any teeth but.. my front teeth are front and they slightly overlap and i’ve got an extra tooth on the bottom..other teeth are quite straight and they don’t look crooked and they (dentists and orthodontists also said that too) they say that i have approximately 8~10mm of space when i bite my teeth together and that my teeth are crowded.. would i really have to get my 4 teeth removed?

Can u advice the best treatments available for straightening crooked tooth?

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009
Q.
Hi,over the last 8-10 years my 2 upper front teeth have clearly protruded forward and it seems my teeth have become more crooked in general,i would like them staightened but there seems to be a vast array of braces to choose from. i am 39 years old and concerned whether braces work on an adult with much success, also 2 of my upper front teeth are noticeably smaller than the others, can you advise the best treatment to make these teeth the same as the others, thanks

My teeth are long due to gum disease can I get lumineers

Saturday, April 4th, 2009
Q.
I have had gum disease. My gum line is very receded and therefore my teeth are very “long”. I have been treated and see a dentist regularly but would like to improve the looks of my front teeth. I also have big gaps between my teeth where the gums used to be. Am I a candidate for lumineers?

How do I reduce the length of my teeth

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Q.
Hello, i am interested on getting some cosmetic dentistry work done in the coming months – Basically i am unhappy with the length on my central and lateral incisors, ive always been of this opinion, i had braces when i was younger, and am very happy with the position of the teeth. They are just too big in a length way!I am now 24 and want to get it sorted out, is there any way i can have them filed down maybe 2mm, i don’t think i need veneers, they seem expensive. I think it would greatly help my self esteem. If i can get this done what do i inquire about to a cosmetic dentist? and would you have a vague idea of how much this procedure would cost? Cheers.
