I would like to have veneers but fear they will break (I am a professional fighter) when in the ring. Is there a particularly strong veneer, and can you give me advice about receding gums?

Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010
Q.
Hi im interested in getting veneers maybee 4-6 accross my top and 4 accross the bottom but im a proffesional fighter and worried that they might not be as strong as my own teeth and come out regularly whilst sparring and fighting. Just want your opinion and is there any particular type of veneers which are stronger than others and would be more suited to me? One more thing is there anything that can be done about reciding gums, or any advice you can give me to help against this? Thanks you very much.,

Friday, September 10th, 2010
Q.
I have gum recession across all my teeth (upper and lower). I would seriously like to consider gum grafts – for cosmetic reasons – to treat 3-4 of the worst teeth. How do I find out the reputable and experienced dental surgeons in the UK and will they perforn surgery for purely cosmetic reasons?,

What are the options for me in regards to preventing further gum recession?

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Q.
Hi there, I have gum recession on the top and bottom teeth – started mostly at the front but gradually seems to be pulling at the back teeth. My dentist says that it is likely to be caused by harsh brushing- x rays have shown no damage structurally no i assume this means it’s not peridontal disease. I gave up smoking about 12 months ago and have switched to a soft bristled brush to try and prevent this harsh brushing. I am really conscious of the appearance of the receeded gum and want to be able to a – prevent further recession and b – also find out what options are available to try and hide the existing recession. I live in Manchester so if you could suggest any options for me i would be eternally grateful,,

I have small gaps in my teeth because of gum recession, can lumineers fix this?

Thursday, June 17th, 2010
Q.
I am 27 and recently went to a dentist who told me that I needed to take better care of my gums. They were red and inflamed and the dentist said there had been some bone loss on the two very back teeth (half a mm). He said that the problem could be solved with a hygienist appointment and a lot of improvement in my brushing technique. I had a professional clean and have since invested in an electric toothbrush. My gums now look pink and much firmer and healthier and they have stopped bleeding. However I have noticed that there is a small amount of recession on two of my front upper teeth. The teeth are strong and healthy but now I have noticed this recession I would like to get it fixed as it has left small gaps in my teeth. Would lumineers be suitable, or some type of bonding?,
