Are Emax Veneers Good Quality Veneers?

Tuesday, March 17th, 2015
Q.

I had CEREC veneers done 2.5 years ago. Last week one broke off (it was my UL4) it came off whilst eating a soft bread roll & had snapped in two (the larger bit I rescued the small top bit I accidentally swallowed) I went back to the dentist who carried out the work and there is a new dentist there who informed me that the tooth in question has little enamel left, it is mainly dentin. I’d like to have the veneer replaced but the dentist can’t guarantee it will bond, and if it comes off I’ll have to pay £550 again for another one. He plans to use an Emax veneer, are these good quality reputable veneers? He did say a crown is another option (at the same cost, however this may result in needing root canal later, again costing money). I’m unsure as to what would be the best option and wonder if there should be any guarantee? My original CEREC came with a 2 year guarantee but I now seem to be getting offered nothing and ultimately fear I could end up spending £500+ on one tooth more regularly than I’d like to.

Medication ruined my teeth. What veneers would be most effective?

Monday, November 22nd, 2010
Q.

during my early teenage years i was put on what is believed to be the strongest medication for acne, Roaccutane. this worked a miracle but it was not without its side effects. A substantial amount of hair fell out, my skin cracked open, my joints needed cortizone injections as the joint fluid dried out, my cornea’s dried out similarly and now i need contact lenses but most importantly of all my teeth went almost transparent from calcium leeching. now my hair is fully restored, skin perfect but my teeth have been left to ruin. they are of near perfect alignment (one out due to a broken jaw) but several+ have had almalgum fillings, two crowns and rear teeth removed (surgeon said these have most blood supply and therefore more cacium deficency).
I am looking to get porcelain veneers over the top to improve their cosmetics, idealy implants but i could never raise that kind of funds.
Which type of veneer is best suited? i don’t eat many hard foods like nuts etc, t-total, don’t smoke or eat that much sugary foods but my teeth seem to get worse. Also are there any practises you can recommend in merseyside/northwest area?
Thankyou so much for taking this time to read this

PS. could there be a possibility of getting treatment through my doctor as the medication is known to have caused the damage?

Worried to loose tooth due to my grinding habit can I have veneers?

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
Q.
Hello I grind my teeth a lot in my sleep and sometimes during the day when I am nervous or stressed. My dentist gave me a hard retainer which did not work. He then gave me a softer one which I chewed through. I now sleep with the hard one in and the soft one on top of that, and it helps but not completely. I am now starting to chew through them both. I have a lot of headaches, mainly tension ones, and I often wake up with tension in my neck and shoulders. I have also started to notice that my teeth have become much more sensitive and I am worrying that I am slowly grinding my teeth away and exposing nerves! I was wondering if I do (fingers crossed I don’t), would I be able to get veneers? Also would i get them free or would I pay? And if I did would they be made of something strong enough to put up with my grinding? Thanks!

Between the ages of 17 – 19 I had traditional braces. I am now 29 and find that my teeth have relapsed over time as my dentist warned they might. I wear a nightly retainer (which is a replacement if one I had and broke) but my teeth aren’t as they were when I first had my brace removed. The main issues are: a small ‘Madonnaesque’ gap between my front two teeth and the teeth wither side of those are rather short. I was wondering between veneers, invisalign and lumineers what I could consider to correct the problem. I want something that will completely close the gap without too much damage to my teeth which are white and in very good condition.

Would there be any problem in fixing refitted crown which is sticking out?

Monday, December 7th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I hope you can help me, i have recently had acrown and a veneer fitted on my two front teeth, my crown came out after only a week. my dentist has put it back in with a stronger cement however has pushed it froward when putting it in. now it sticks out further than my other teeth. my dentist has said she can take it out but will have to numb it and there is the chance the root might crack or the crown. do you have any advise on what to do. Thanks
