Should my dentist be responsible for replacing the cap and the work required to fix my problem?

Q. I just had my very back tooth capped last year and had gone back to the dentist for my yearly check-up and was told that I had a leaking tooth where it was just capped which indicated decay. Should the dentist be responsible for replacing the cap and the work required to fix the problem. They mention several times how well I take care of my teeth with brushing and flossing so I do not think it was my fault. Please advise, thank you!,
A. In cases like this I can only advise that you discuss your concerns with your dentist
