Should I Have Cerec Treatment?

Q.
Should I have Cerec treatment done on the top four or six teeth, won’t this make the rest of my teeth look discoloured? Does one have to get the whole of the top and bottom teeth done?
Also how long do they last for and what is the price?
My teeth are not crooked, pretty straight with a small gap at the front which I would like closed up. I am now running of of things to type but I can’t send this unless I write 400 words which is pretty daft?

Thanks

Hi, thank you for taking the time to write your questions. 400 words seems a lot doesn’t it but it’s quite necessary to be able to know exactly what your query is and to help answer it accurately.

One thing I don’t fully understand yet is exactly what you’re having the Cerec treatment for? Is it to make veneers? Are your teeth discoloured? If you are having Cerec to make veneers then they may not be as good or as aesthetic compared to a Master dental ceramist making them by hand – it is a very skilled and artisitic job to make really beautiful and natural veneers that totally blend in with your other teeth. This is less of an issue if you are covering all the teeth in your smile because what your natural teeth look like would not be so obvious.

Have you considered other options, like very thin veneers (made by hand) or composite veneers or bonding?

I would advise that if Cerecs are the only treatment option you have been offered then go for a second opinion with a very experienced cosmetic dentist to discuss alternatives as well as Cerec and as for the differences to be explained and to see their portfolios

I hope that helps for now?

Kind regards

Mark
