A. Hi,
thank you for your question
You could have treatment carried out on the NHS. You may be eligible for exempt treatment which means that you wouldn’t have to pay anything at all. The difficulty is finding a NHS dentist still has openings and is taking on new patients. You would have to have the treatment carried out under local anaesthetic. The dentures would probably be made first and then on your last denture appointment the teet would be extracted and the denture would be fit.
If you jave to have the treatment done privately the procedure would be same, the dentures will be better quality and there may be a chance of having treatment carried out under sedation which means that the teeth can be extracted and you won’t remember anything.
Obviously private dentistry costs more. You could be looking at £3000 for the entire treatment
Kind regards

Elizabeth Davis Says :

Hi, I need some advice please. I’m 45 and have struggled with my teeth from a little girl. My front teeth were knocked out due to an accident when I was 8. I have been told since a little girl I have poor teeth and gums. I don’t smoke. I drink occasionally. I feel all my life I have had treatment on my teeth or gums. I’ve just paid out again over £1500 to have deep cleaning on my gums (which as you will be aware is not a nice experience) my front teeth have formed a gap. I’m thinking of the 6 month smile, which again will cost a lot of money. Then my front 4 teeth which are caps, replaced with new ones. Not sure of cost of that yet. I know some of my teeth are going to have to be removed as they are very painful. My gums constantly ache. Shall I give up and go for full dentures and have all my teeth removed. The thought of no more pain is very appealing. Help!!!!
