Our dentist has removed a healthy canine tooth from my 12 year old son can anything be done
Q. I was horrified to find that our dentist removed a healthy canine tooth from my 12 year old son. He assured my husband that, although healthy, the tooth was a baby tooth, which was preventing the adult canine pushing through. However, the tooth pulled out was a second tooth and matched the second canine on the other side. The tooth pushing through is a large molar and I am seriously concerned that my son will now be left with a lopsided smile. Can anything be done to correct this error without resorting to implant.
A. I doubt very much that the dentist would have made such an error, go back to him and discuss your feelings I’m sure there has been a break down in communication somewhere along the line.
I have a baby canine. My adult canine was removed when I was 12 as it was deemed to be too far back to be brought in line with my other teeth. This was during exposure of my upper thirds in theater. I am now looking to try and align my baby canine with my other teeth without damaging the integrity of my baby tooth. Can you advise of a Glasgow based dentist that would be able to provide suitable treatment?
