My lateral incisors are bigger than central ones, should I have braces again or implants?

Q.
I am 25 and had train tracks for 6 years and a head brace for a year which I wore for 16 hours a day. My problem is that my lateral incisors are bigger than my central incisors and due to there not being any space grew very far behind giving the aspect of having double central incisors. When I turned 18 my orthodontist told me she had done an experiment that had not worked and sent me packing you would never be able to tell that I have ever had any orthodontic treatment previously. The actual state of my teeth are not in a bad condition they are simply not aligned would I be better off having braces again or pulling out the incisors and having false teeth fitted?

Thank you for your enquiry.

Without seeing you I could never recommend that you have any teeth removed, especially if they are nice and healthy teeth.

I would recommend you book an appointment to see either a dentist who may be able to do Invisalign, clear invisible braces or book in with an orthodontist to discuss your case. You may find that it could be straightforward to get your teeth aligned without needing traditional ‘train tracks’.

Once you have your teeth re-aligned it would just be a simple matter of using a retainer to keep them in place.

My upper left lateral is not in line with my other upper teeth. It has grown inwards. I was wondering what I could have done to push it forward.,

A simple removable brace can often be used to push these teeth into their correct position
