Is there any likely hood that my tooth breaks in process of replacing my caps

Q. Hi i wrote to you before, i have porclain fused to metal crowns, and the metal is starting to show slightly. One of my tooth with a crown had a root canal and has changed colour. I did enquiry into the services you provid, however i am worried about getting my teeth re-caped maybe due to horror stories i heard e.g a root canal tooth can be broken of when taking off the cap, this is really putting me off else i would have book a consultation with you to get all porclain crowns a while back. Is there a likely hood that my tooth that is gone grey under the cap may break of in the process of removing the cap please let me know, as this is the only thing putting me of with having a consultation with you… Regards

A. Hi,

We will carry out tests and x-rays pre treatment to make sure that the foundations are healthy before carrying out any treatment.

It is always a big decision chosing to have Cosmetic work carried out, a lot of my patients come with a list of questions they would like to ask me at there consultation so feel free to ask me as many questions as you need!

The colour of your tooth underneath does not matter as the ceramist will create your crowns to block out any discolouration underneath.

Kind regards
