I’m Pregnant And I Want To Know If I Can Get Crowns Fitted Through The NHS?

Q.
Hi, hello, my problem is that I’m eight weeks pregnant and have very bad discoloured teeth, do you know if I could get crowns free on the NHS? I am twenty one years old and I have always had quite bad teeth. The dentist told my mother that there is only had one layer of enamel on my teeth. She paid for me to go private when I was a teenager but I have a front right tooth which is nearly orange, please can you help me? Do you think they should be crowned and will I have to pay? I’m afraid I cannot afford to pay for them and it is really bad looking and it’s really getting me down. I hope you can provide me with the advice I need. Thank you for your time.

Hello, it’s a pleasure to answer your question. I believe you will be exempt from charges on the NHS for a year after your child is born, that would probably be your best time to get them crowned if it’s suitable. I hope this helps you with your enquiry. Thank you, Dr Andrew Moore.
