I Lost My Crown And Chipped My Tooth But I Don’t Like The Way My Temporary Crown Rests On My Lower Lip, Should It Be There?

Hi, in the past I have had an accident while diving and I’ve lost the crown to my front incisor and chipped the tooth next to it. I’m in the process of having my local NHS dentist repair the damage and I’m a quite a bit concerned.
The refitted temporary crown sits at an odd angle and now rests on my lower lip. I’m told that this is the best that they can do and that the permanent crown will most likely be the same. There was no other damage and I’m confused as to why the crown that was fitted before served me for years and now I’m having this ugly radical alternative? Can you help me understand why this is? Thank you.

Hi, and thank you for your enquiry. It should be possible to fit the permanent crown in a better position, if that’s not the case I would seek a second opinion to clarify why it is not possible. If you explain why you are confused, I’m sure your dentist won’t have a problem trying to explain it. Thank you.
