I have had treatment for gum disease
Q. I have had treatment for gum disease and my gums are much better, but I have some bone loss.I would like to get implants, could you tell me what bone grafting is and if it works? Thankyou
A. hi
bone grafting is relevent where there is not enough bone to place implants ,so if you have had a lot of bone loss we would graft bone from elsewhere in the body to the site we wanted the implant in, or from a donor , animal or synthetic source allow this to integrate with the existing bone and then place an implant.
