I have bad rotten teeth what treatment do u suggest me?

Q. Hi, I’m 28 years old and i have always had bad teeth and oral hygiene in general. The last time i visited a dentist was around 14 years ago. The teeth that didn’t have to be extracted had fillings so my mouth was already in quite a mess. Now it has got to the stage where at least 50% of my teeth have completly rotted away right down to the gum line and below. All i see now when i open my mouth is big black holes in my gums. The remaining teeth, mostly being the front visable ones have very bad cavities and are discusting to look at. Having done research online i am absolutly petrified of related health issues caused by bad oral hygeine. I’m so depressed right now i just dont know what to do, I have no friends, people think i am ignorent because i never smile and dont like to look at people when they speak to me incase they look at my teeth. I am jobless at the moment, i wanna go back to work but too worried about what the interviewer will think when he see’s my teeth. I really want friends and to socialise but im just so embarassed to go anywhere or speak to anyone. I currently recieve social security benefits so spending thousands of pounds to fix my teeth is not an option for me. I just don’t know what to do or where to turn, i just want to be able to smile and laugh without looking at the floor or putting my hand over my mouth. I have a partner of 8 years who keeps telling me to sort it but she just dosn’t understand why i carn’t face going to see a dentist. I carn’t even smile in front of my 3 children because im so scared of them seeing my bad teeth and asking questions about them, even my own kids think im ignorent and misrable. I’m quite sure i’m way past the help of a regular dentist because i don’t believe any of my teeth can be saved and its actually my gums that look pretty messed up now. Please help me turn my life around and smile again. Your help and advice is very much appreciated.

A. Hello, I’m sorry to hear of your predictament. I thin k you’re right, a regular dentist probably isn’t going to be able to help you at this stage. Perhaps you hould look into being treated a  dental hospital where treatment is free or subsidised and carried out under the supervision of a specialist?

My name is Jackie and i’m a mother of 6 beautiful kids. I never had a problem with my teeth until after i started having kids, in fact my teeth were beautiful. Now 7 of my front ones are a big old mess, and have started to rot away. I’m really ashamed of myself foe letting them get this way. I have been to a regular dentist and it’s gonna cost a fortune to get them fixed, and as you can see, i don’t have much money. any suggestions would be great, I wanna be able to smile again without being so embarrassed. Thank you for your time again any suggestions would be great.

what will a dentist do to a 16th month old toddler who has two rotten teeth?,

  6. Brysen says:

The dentist will have a look at the childs teeth and discuss diet and why the teeth have ended up decayed. If the child is in pain then treatment may have to be carried out but that will need to be discussed at an initial exam appointment.

  7. Destin says:

Hello, im 18 years of age and have recently had a baby, which i know i havea free nhs prescription card.. but my main concern is the hygene of my teeth and gums i never got braces as a kid which didnt help my teeth atall. and as i am a smoker and never took much care of my teeth so i have many rotten gaps in my teetth, my last dentist also done a surgery on two of my teeth and never finsihed the job as they change my dentist, so he never knew what to do. i now have two gaps with little pieces of teeth which is rotten.if possible could you give me an idea of the advantages i can have from surgery as my teeth are bringin down my confidence and could you tell me if so, what the prces will range from. please get in contact

I have a few missing teeth causing gaps in my mouth. I also poor quality gums. I have had a new dentist at my practice but do not think that they cando thework that i need doing. Can you help?

  9. Alanna says:

On Thursday my upper right rear bridge crown of about4-5 years fell out revealing a rotten stump. I’m seeing the dentist tomorrow morning but feel I need a second opinion given that I’ve had regular 6 monthly checkups and said the crown wobbled, but nothing was spotted. I’m guessing an implant or two may now be required and would like your opinion on the rest of my teeth.

  10. Aubrey says:

My husband has been told that he needs a 6 unit bridge because of recurring abcesses under the old bridge. He has been quoted £1700 and been told that it is not available on the nhs even though it’s the top front row is this correct? He is so much pain and has had a couple of trips to the hospital to drain abcesses. At those times he’s had to take a week at a time of sick. Up to now he’s had six abcesses and at times has been in incredible pain but we cannot afford that kind of money any suggestions?

  11. Ainsley says:

After two root canal dental treatments have wrotten away i have been left with no choice but to have a large moler on each side of my mouth removed and have been advised as i am only 26, that dental implants are the only answer, i have heard good things about your practice and would love to have a consultation with yourselves to see if you are able to help me and how muchit would cost many thanks in advance

  12. Cadence says:

I’ve 4 missing teeth,2 top right, 2 bottom left, 1 of which has only just been removed following decay under a crown. would like implants, but am concerned around costs and whether there is enough bone, as 3 teeth have been missing for a number of years. What does you free consultation involve? I’mlooking for a “whether it’s feasible and the total cost”. Many thanks

  13. Angelina says:

I was wondering about the cost of dental implants. I have one upper side tooth missing and the tooth next to this has a deep infection. Its now been decided that the tooth will need removing. What do you suggest. Thank you.

  14. Katherine says:

i had a fall last year which was not my fault i read on one of the implants websites that some dentists can consider treatment on the nhs when i asked my dentist they said it only applies to cancer patients which is correct

  15. Hayden says:

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately I don’t provide dental implants within the NHS so am unable to give advice on what cases qualify for treatment on an NHS basis. Regards.

  16. Zaire says:

Firstly I would like to start by assuring you, that there are ways to improve your situation and get you smiling again. As you are not currently working, and are on benefits you will probably be exempt from charges at your local NHS dental practice. In order to register with your local NHS practice, I would encourage you to view the NHS choices website http://www.nhs.uk , on the left hand side you will see a section entitled ‘Find and choose services’ by inputting your postcode, this should give you a list of your local NHS dental practices. If you are struggling to find an NHS practice who are taking on new patients, you should contact your local PCT (Primary Care Trust) or NHS direct on 08 45 46 47 and ask if there is a waiting list for your area which you can join. I know that this first step of getting an appointment must be daunting for you, but it could signal the start of a whole new and happier stage in your life. I am sure that your partner and your children will support you when they realise how much it pains you and that you are trying to change things.

  17. Marcella says:

My 2 year old daughter – she has decay on upper front teeth. She refuses to open mouth while brushing. The enamel on upper front teeth has also partially eroded, and we can see yellow/brown on upper part of teeth. This caused great concern. What’s the best thing to do? Is it possible to put sealant on them to stop further decay? How to stop decay? How to brush her teeth if she makes it impossible to open her mouth. Can the dentist put some shield on decayed teeth?

  18. Rey says:

Please take her to see a paediatric dentist who can advise you on the best way forward. Regards

  20. Katelynn says:

Hello , I was wondering how do you choose the actual colour for the crown after you have had an implant? I obviously want it to be as close a match to my teeth as possible, but was also considering teeth whitening after the procedure. What do you think? Is it best if I have the tooth whitening before my crown is fitted? thank you for your time and for reading and answering my message
