I Don’t Like Pain Or Needles – What Are The Alternatives For People With Dental Phobia?

Q.
Hi Kailesh. My teeth have been sensitive to cold for over a year now so I had it filled but the filling keeps coming out so now it gets more sensitive to cold in my teeth. I don’t like needles, so could you tell me if there is any other way to have it taken out?  I’m one those people who don’t do pain or needles, so if there is any other way of taking it out then I would love to hear about it. I don’t like needles because the last time I had a needle in my gums didn’t go down till 2 weeks later. I couldn’t eat or drink or brush my teeth in the morning or night because I was in so much pain and that was about 7 years ago now. People have been telling me it only takes 2 minutes – not even that – but I hope to have it out soon and I’m hoping that it doesn’t happen the way it did 7 years ago. I hope you can help me.

Hi. You can have sedation and then you don’t feel and remember and you can easily sort out the tooth. Another option some clinics offer is The Wand which allows for pain free injections. It’s important to find a dentist you feel totally comfortable with who is comfortable treating patients with dental phobia. I hope this information helps you along. Regards, Dr Kailesh Solanki.
