I can’t get my infected tooth root canalled until late November. What can I do to alleviate pain in the meantime?

Q. I started having pain on one of my teeth about 10 days ago. Last Friday I went to my dentist who took an X ray, cleaned my tooth and put a temporary filling. The following day I was not feeling any pain but 2 days later the pain came back and is constant. I went back to my dentist today and he told me that I would need root canal treatment. Unfortunately the surgery I go to is extremely busy and I don’t have an appointment for my treatment until the 20th November which means that I have to wait over a month. I am worried because I know that the pain is not going to go away until I get treated. So I would like to know if there is any way I can ease the pain until then. The infected tooth is a molar so I was wondering if it wouldn’t just be better if I had the tooth removed instead of waiting that long. I hope you can advise me. Thank you. ,
A. The best thing to ease an infected tooth is an anti inflammatory such as Nurofen, you can also ask your Doctor for Antibiotic which can help with the pain as well. Teeth are very important so I would not advise you have it removed. I hope that this has helped!
