I Am In Need Of Extensive Dental Work But I Do Not Have The Funds To Pay For It. What Can I Do?

Q.
Dear Dr Moore, I feel I am in need of extensive dental work but do not have the funds to pay for it. I have many missing teeth some of which are at the front and I feel that having these gaps filled would make a huge difference to how I feel about myself. I also have a pallet that I often struggle to wear and this now needs replacing as more teeth are now missing. I dream about the thought of having permanent implants one day but any advice on how to achieve this would be more than appreciated. I am looking forward to your reply and I hope you can help.

Hi. You could ask your dentist to try and refer you to a teaching hospital to see if they can help with funding but it is difficult getting such extensive treatment done cheaply. The only other options are to save up of find a clinic which offers a manageable payment plan. You could find a local clinic which offers free referrals so you know exactly what you have to work towards. Best of luck, Dr Andrew Moore.
