Does the NHS offer crowns and veneers for dental patients?
Q.
Hello doctor,
Hello doctor,
i have temporarily caps on my 2 front teeth as i fell over when little and broke them you can clearly see the line were the tooth meets the cap and is very brown and is very hard for me to smile in front of anyone and cover my mouth when speaking and they are also discolored i also have gaps i was told my jaw was big but my teeth are small for my mouth i was wondering if nhs does crowns or veneers as i am a student and can not afford to pay, thank you for your time
A.
Hi
Sorry to hear about your trauma. The NHS should be able to provide crowns or veneers as required but not for a cosmetic benefit. Therefore these two front teeth could be treated but unlikely to be able to treat the adjacent teeth. Your other options could be to find a dental teaching hospital (there are 15 in the UK) or often private dentists have payment plans which can break the amount into smaller monthly amounts.
Good luck
