Hi, I have a wisdom tooth at the back left bottom of my mouth that looks like it may have grown but has not cut the gum (the bottom right has half cut the gum top left through but growing into my cheek and top right just starting to cut) I am 36 they have come through very late no? My question is the bottom left has been “inflamed” according to my doctor and dentist I had throat problems so saw my doctor first who sent me to a dentist. This was Wednesday 14th November (I had the problem since Sunday 11th November) it is now a whole week later and it still feels the same the throat is better but the funny tingly feeling in my tooth and jaw is still there? The dentist gave me antibiotics metridonzale 3x200mg for 3 days but told me to only take them if the pain gets worse – I’m not actually in pain it just feels weird on the tooth which they said was inflamed so now I don’t know whether to take the tablets as its still inflamed- if I do get an infection I don’t want to have taken antibiotics when I didn’t have to. Please give me your advice what would you do if it was your mouth? I am thinking maybe get it out but I am terrified of dentists and will have to be referred to have it out under GA at Eastmans also with Christmas being so soon and the referral procedure I probably will be like this until at least January.I am at my wits end wondering will I have problems over Christmas. Thanks, I would love to come to your practise but I am NHS, is there an insurance or payment plan I could use? thanks

Friday, October 19th, 2012Hiya, I chipped my front tooth 5 years ago and had root canal treatment on it and they then filled my tooth up but it started going black so my dentist suggested a crown.From day one my crown has had a black line above it and my gum area above my tooth is black. I had fluid coming out of my gum so I went to see my dentist which referred me to a dental school in Aberdeen, they sent me back to my dentists and instructed him to take my crown off and leave it open and put a temporary crown on and redo root treatment. I had a new crown put on in august but my gum is still black. Can anything be done to get the dark colour away from my gum area? and why has it turned that colour?
I need root canal treatment, how can I afford to pay for this?
Thursday, June 28th, 2012hello dr moore, i wondered if you could help me? the problem is that i dont have an nhs dentist, i have been on the waiting list since i moved over a year ago but with no luck. since then i have needed all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted. this was done by the nhs but i had to wait 6 months causing me to spend well over £100 on antibiotics. this pretty much cleared out my savings as between us me and my partner we only make £600 a month all of which goes on rent bills ect. the problem is that i now need a root canal (as the infection has gotten under a filling and is now in my jawbone) but i simply do not have the money to pay for it. i am in a lot of pain, is there anyway to treat this that will not need my to get a bank loan? any advice would be great

I have had a root canal filling and a crown put on one of my teeth (upper side) about 10 years ago. It had given me no trouble till about 2 months ago when I bit on some hard nuts and I got a dental abscess. I had severe pain and swelling of the face. With antibiotics it cleared up and I have had no problems since then, but my dentitst says I should remove it. I am hesitant as it is not giving me any trouble and I don’t intend to bite anything that hard ever again. Also I have never had a tooth removed before. Please advise if it needs to be removed. thanks,
My top denture has come loose after chemotherapy, what should I do?
Tuesday, April 24th, 2012I have recently been fitted with a top denture which is pretty awful and I have big gaps in my bottom teeth which are not false but loose, therefore I feel that I have am awful smile which is quite depressing, what can I do? I had chemotherapy 5 years ago which resulted in 6 months of thrush of the mouth which loosened my teeth. I would like to have the perfect smile but at present with these dreadful dentures it is not possible.
Should I be worried about continued dental pain after root canal treatment?
Monday, April 2nd, 2012I finished root canal treatment yesterday,after checking the xray, a tiny bit at the very top of the root has been missed, this morning it feels the same as it did at the beginning before ant treatment began.I ,ve had 1 weeks course of antibiotics,it was cleaned out as this was being done it was very smelly and the pulp had rotted away. It was covered & i went back 9 days later,it stil felt odd sort of tingly numb feeling & the smell was back.When it was being recleaned yesterday i could smell it again it was also a bit swollen and tender at the top, she finshed the job & then checked the xray where it was noticed a tiny bit has been missed,she seemed to think it would be fine i have to go back in 10 days,but at the minute it feels the same as it did right at the beginning about 6 weeks now

I am a 58 year old man with coronary artery disease.I have seven teeth on an upper plate. Whilst I do take care with hygiene I regard the plate as being very unhygienic and unsightly.
Because of bacterial mouth infect-
ions and heart disease | wondered whether teeth implants would be a viable option for me to replace the upper front denture. As well as the denture I have several crowns fitted following root canal treatment.

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011I recently broke two of my front teeth in an accident and so far I have had to have 1 removed as it couldnt be saved and currently it has been replaced with a temporary cap which is attached to 3 post. This tooth that has to be removed currently still has the roots and my denstist has already killed off all the nerves before replacing it with the temporary fixture as mentioned above.
On the second tooth which is one of the two front ones,it broke half way which my dentist has fixed with some filling materials that has covered the broken part. After a month from this treatment, I have had to return to get a root canal treatment on this tooth as it was giving me a lot of problems. My dentist after hearing my description of the pains as well as my xrays had given me two options which was to do a root canal or provide me with some antibiotics for a couple of months to see the reaction. I had opted for a root canal as I thought that down the line I will probably have to get it done anyway as my teeth had broken half way and the nerves had been exposed. Now I dont know if I had made the right decision by opting for a root canal this early and the thought of having to deal with discolorations etc had been really disheartening. Please advise if I did make the right choice, I am awaiting my next round of review so I could get it crowned and I wondering if it is also a good idea to get it crowned this early as the current fixture placed on it is not giving me to much problems.
My last question is this, according to my dentist the tooth that he has removed which I had mentioned above can be replaced with a crown that can attach to middle tooth that I had broken which will also be crowned. he has suggested that I pull out the root and have this procedure done. Is this the same as having a bridge??furthermore I had wanted a post and core done but he had advised against it as there hasnt been much teeth left after he had pulled it out and whatever is left is above the gum line and any post and core treatment will require that they pill off part of the gum to get it done. I had sort a second opinion from another dentist and he had advised that it could be possible to still do a post and core. Now I am confused as to what I need to get done. I want something done so that I wont have to worry about it falling off or giving me any problems in the next few years and so therefore would appreciate any advise that could give me some comfort and direction on what procedure to undertake before I make any decisions. Monday, October 17th, 2011Hi, I am wondering if you know of any places or if people ever do pro bono work. I am 38, have lost almost all my teeth, have barely any gums left and am always having headaches and at times extreme pain due to broken teeth. I never feel good and I believe its due to my mouth. I can barely chew food any more which is causing stomach issues now. i am in the Asheville area of NC and am a mom to a k and a 1st grader and a wife. I dont want to die early and live with this embarrassement anymore cause I know I have a wonderful life to live for. Im so tired of living like this and we dont have money so I havent visited a dentist in probably 20 years. Any ideas or suggestions would be so appreciated
My filling is causing me constant pain even with medication, what should I do?
Tuesday, September 13th, 2011i had a tempory filling do about 2 mouth ago and in the last week ive been in a lot of pain not being aball to sleep so webt to my dentist and they said that my fillin was still intack and didnt look like i had and infection as my teeth didnt hurt but they gave me 250mg of amoxicillin to take one three times a day for 5 days but on the second day i woke up wth sowen lower jaw and in a lot of pain with the tooth i had my filling i have a constant pain in my jaw with a throbbing pain from my tooth i havent been aball to eat and this is my third day can you please help me want is it can want will need doing thank you so much
