Can I live without my molar tooth?

Q. I have a vertical crack in molar #27 this tooth already has root canal and gold crown on it. Can I live without this molar? Or is this the start down a slippery slope? I had braces as a child, but were not done right, my front teeth don’t meet and bad occlusion. I use molars a lot. Stumbling over the expense for one tooth. $3500 – $4000 in Canada.,
A. Of course you can live without this tooth however it may be more cost effective to remove it and place a dental implant??

Can a person live normal, healthy life without having any teeth. Are any diseases that follow after you lose your teeth.
Thank you!

Hi, the crown over my right molar just fell out exposing a stub which underneath is a very old root canal. It hurts, its swelling, and I would like to know if it is ok to live without a molar and what is the function of the molar teeth? Also what are dental implants made from?
