Can a back tooth support a neighbouring false tooth?

Q.

Hello doctor, hope you can help

can a metal very back tooth crown support a neighbouring false tooth w out a bridge to other tooth?i know the best thing is a bridge but to save cutting another healthy will one crown be strong enough? the missing tooth is second from d back so it will be tooth colour but the very back tooth can be metal because it cannot be seen then i will get partial dentures attached to the bottom very back tooth so the opposing tooth to the false tooth will be a denture many thanks for you time

Dear Enquirer,
This type of restoration will not work on te back tooth as it wil not support the bite forces placed from your back teeth. If you want to be as conservative as possible, I would suggest an implant placement where you have a tooth missing, which will prevent cutting a tooth.Hope that helps Regards,
