Yeovil Dental Practice To Launch New At-Home Service
A Yeovil dental practice is reaching out to the community to help make dental care more accessible by launching a new domicile dental service.
The Hendford Dental Practice will be providing at-home dental care for people who struggle to make it to the practice, as part of an initiative to make life easier for patients who are less able; the practice will be able to send a team to care home, assisted living apartments and private homes, allowing patients to get the treatment they need without worrying about transport or mobility issues.
The Hendford Dental team can carry out a range of tests and examinations on-site and if further treatment is required, arrangements can be made to return to the home. Services include routine dental checks, general dentistry and denture repairs.
Practice manager and dental nurse, Carol Stenning, said that the new at-home service will make a massive difference to older people in the community. Many older people struggle with ill-fitting dentures, which contribute to inflamed and sore gums, because they cannot get to a dentist and this new service will put an end to these problems. Many people will also feel more comfortable in the familiar surroundings of their home.
