Work on a £2.6 million training facility is underway at the University of Central Lancashire.

The new training school will be located on the ground floor of the existing Harrington Building at the city centre campus.

A spokesman for the university said that he hopes the work will be completed in time for the training centre to open in the autumn. He also added that the centre would be a huge benefit to postgraduate and undergraduate students, as well as staff and members of the local community.

When work is completed, the training facility will house four dental surgeries, a teaching clinic, two oral surgery rooms and an X-ray suite. The centre will provide state of the art teaching facilities for the university’s dental students.

The project is being overseen by Cassidy and Ashton, based in Preston and Conlon Construction, based in Bamber Bridge.
