Work Set To Begin On Ayr Hospital Extension

Work is set to begin at University Hospital Ayr with plans to build an extension to improve outpatient services. This will lead to improved to community dental services and a new podiatry clinic has been approved.

The extension was approved following a review of community and outpatient services in Ayr. In preparation, Land Engineering Ltd has started work on a new access road to divert traffic away from the site, to enable builders to get going with the construction project.

The new road is expected to be finished on the 8th March with work expected to start on the outpatient unit shortly after.

John Wright, Director of Information and Clinical Support Services, apologised to local residents for any inconvenience during the construction period and thanked staff and patients for their cooperation.
