Winnipeg reduces levels of fluoride in the water supply

Sample News Big

Fluoride levels in Winnipeg have been reduced in line with provincial guidelines.

The levels of fluoride in the water supply have been lowered from 0.85 parts per million to 0.7 parts per million.

Around half of Canada’s municipalities add fluoride to their water supplies as a means of boosting standards of oral health; however, recent guidelines have recommended a lower limit of fluoride and some communities have voted in favour of stopping fluoridation.

The issue of fluoridation has become increasingly contentious in recent years; public health figures, dentists and many paediatricians are in favour of adding fluoride to the water, but many people are anti-fluoride and believe that adding fluoride to water supplies causes health risks. Many communities have held public meetings and discussions to talk about the issue of fluoridation and some have voted in favour of stopping water fluoridation.

There is evidence to suggest that fluoride is beneficial for oral health, especially for people who cannot afford regular dental treatment; however, anti-fluoride campaigners believe that fluoride can pose risks to general health and claim that adding it to the municipal water supply is a violation of their individual rights.

The US Department of Health and Human Services recommended in February that the fluoride concentration in artificially fluoridated water be reduced to 0.7 parts per million (www.FluorideAlert.org).

The DHHS made this recommendation owing to the high percentage of US children suffering from chronic fluoride poisoning (dental fluorosis) which is 40.7% in adolescents aged 12-15 years – and for other health concerns.

Winnipeg lowering its fluoride concentration level in water from 0.85 ppm to 0.7 ppm is merely meeting the DHHS’s recommended guideline.

However, if 0.7 ppm is considered safe and 0.85 ppm is not safe, there is no margin of safety for those who ingest large amounts of water.

Be sure to watch the Australian-produced film FIRE WATER ( http://www.FireWaterFilm.com ) and note that the silicofluorides (hydrofluorosilicic acid and sodium silicofluoride) that are added to water supplies for claimed dental benefits come to your water supply direct from the pollution scrubbers of the phosphate fertilizer industry. The former (hydrofluorosilicic acid) is so corrosive that it has to be transported in rubber-lined tankers.

One of the silicofluorides was registered in the Australian state of Victoria as an active ingredient in a snail killer!

Post Script to the last sentence in my message above: Snail killer can kill dogs. Imagine what minute doses of an active ingredient of snail killer has the potential to do to infants who ingest it regularly in their reconstituted milk formula.

No wonder that Dr Albert Schatz., PhD, the co-discoverer of the first human cure for tuberculosis (Streptomycin) found a higher rate of infant mortality and congenital abnormalities in a couple of fluoridated cities in Chile when he compared these rates against non-fluoridated ones.
Please Google ‘Dr Albert Schatz PhD affidavit’ and see what he had to say about the harm fluoridation was causing to infants in Chile.

And Google ‘Ministry of not-so-funny walks’ and note that approximately 60 million people in India lead crippled and painful lives because of the natural fluoride in their water supplies. Fluoride coupled with poor nutrition can have devastating effects. Note in this article the distorted bone architecture in two children exposed to natural fluoride. Note also (toward the end of this artcile): In one village in India, about 17% of the population are afflicted with skeletal fluorosis from fluoride in their water that is no higher than 1.7 parts per million.

Adding fluoride to public water supplies is genocide by stealth.

“There is evidence to suggest that fluoride is beneficial for oral health”.

When have they ever done a study to suggest any good effects for oral health when fluoride is SWALLOWED? Sun block protects my skin from the sun, so does that mean it should be in our water supply and we should all drink it to protect us from the sun? Any studies that have shown that it can have good effects for oral health have either been from directly placing small amounts on teeth and then rinsing it away or have not been cross examined to rule out other factors such as the community that was showing better dental health with fluoridation had already been showing steady improvement before the fluoride was added to the water, or the city they compare it to has a population that eats more processed foods and has poor dental hygiene practices.

“especially for people who cannot afford regular dental treatment”

um, don’t they have to pay for the fluoride? Why not just give the money to those who truly can’t afford to get their teeth cleaned or spend the money on educating people on how to take care of their teeth, such as foods that naturally clean teeth and spices that are used in other cultures that clean teeth.

Since fluoride is shown to lower IQ in children it should be illegal to have it in the water supply, I had to get a special filter (I’m in Winnipeg) but what about those that can’t afford to get one? You are forcing those who can’t pay for filtration to endanger their children on the basis that someone can’t afford to clean their teeth?
