Wetherby Orthodontist Launches New iPhone App
A gadget-loving orthodontist from Wetherby has become one of the first specialists in the UK to launch her own iPhone app.
Megan Hatfield created the SendASmile app, which allows patients to take pictures of their smile and send them in for assessment by a trained orthodontist. Megan said that the app allows her to see the patient’s smile, rather than patients ringing up and trying to explain the appearance of their teeth and explain the problems they are encountering.
Megan believes that the app will be useful for people who want to make initial enquiries about orthodontic treatment, as well as enabling patients who are undergoing treatment to keep in touch with their orthodontist. Megan believes that the app will be popular with the adult market, as a growing number of adults are choosing to have orthodontic treatment to improve their smile.
Megan created SendASmile in conjunction with Appware, a technology firm based in Wetherby. The app is free to download and it includes a Twitter feed, as well as links to YouTube and Facebook.
