A dental practice in Uttoxeter has moved to a new location in the centre of the town, it has been announced.

Uttoxeter Dental Practice, which has been operating under the name of Bason and Cathercole Surgery on the High Street for almost 40 years, has now moved onto the Dovefields Retail Park; the practice has also been rebranded and has a new logo to match the new name.

The new practice provides dental care for 10,000 patients and the team is hoping to take on new patients in the future. Partner Paul Bason said that the surgery will never turn patients away; Bason and fellow partner Jim Cathercole have taken on two new dentists, who will start work in the summer.

Mr Bason said that the practice had to move because the old premises did not adhere to new clinical guidelines; he said that there was uncertainty regarding the future and the best option was to move the practice to a new location. The new building boasts excellent facilities, including a specialist decontamination room and access for disabled patients. The surgery has an open door policy, meaning that patients can turn up and get the treatment they need on the same day.
