A local dental scheme is helping thousands of uninsured Florida people by providing free care.

Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH), which began in New Port Richey in 2001, provides free dental care to underprivileged and low-income communities.

Its latest over 18s event will be held on Friday 5 February 2010 from 7am to 5pm at Monticciolo Family and Sedation Dentistry in New Port Richey.

Dr Vincent Monticciolo, DFTH, said that he had established the scheme because he wanted to make a difference in his community.

He claimedthat the free dental care not only improves people’s oral health but their looks, their overall health and their confidence too.

This is New Port Richey’s ninth DFTH day and free services available include fillings, extractions and cleanings.

A registered non-profit charity, DFTH events provided more than $5.5million’s worth of dentistry to more than 25,000 patients.
