An orthodontist from Truro is celebrating after being named runner-up at a national awards ceremony.

Jeremy Peak, was revealed as the runner-up in the ‘Against All Odds’ category at the British Orthodontic Society’s awards. This was the third time Jeremy has been commended in this category. The Against All Odds prize is awarded to dentists who transform the smile of a patient against all the odds and Jeremy was delighted to be named runner-up in an award that means so much to him.

Nominations for the prize are made by patients who feel that their orthodontist has had a positive impact on their confidence, looks and quality of life; the award is a way for patients to say thank you to their orthodontist for their hard work and clinical excellence.

This year, Jeremy was nominated for the award y 46 year old patient, Darren Jose. At the age of 46 Darren believed that there was very little that could be done to sort out his teeth and improve the look of his smile, but Jeremy Peak had other ideas. The orthodontist, who is based at The River Practice Specialist Centre in Truro, suggested braces and now Darren feels much more confident and is able to smile without feeling embarrassed or ashamed.

Darren said that he was delighted for Jeremy to be recognised for the award for the third time and said that he will be forever grateful for his treatment.

Jeremy said that he was honoured to be nominated and pleased that his work had made such an impact on Darren’s quality of life.
