Trucker charged after driving incident

A trucker has been charged after he was found trying to extract a tooth whilst driving.

The 58 year old truck driver was pulled over by police after a fellow driver alerted a patrol car to a man driving dangerously on Highway 402 in Warwick Township near Sarnia. Following an inspection of the vehicle and a lengthy chat with the driver, police came to the conclusion that the driver was driving so poorly because he was attempting to pull out a tooth while at the wheel. The driver had tied string round the tooth and attached it to the roof of his cab; he had been hoping that the course of movement on the road would remove the tooth.

Police in the area said that they had never seen anything like this before and were shocked to discover the driver practising amateur dentistry while driving.

The driver’s name has not been released as he will be charged under the Highway Traffic Act, rather than the Criminal Code. The driver has also expressed his desires to remain anonymous so that he does not get bombarded by the media, wanting details of his extraordinary stunt.

The 58 year old man from Kitchener will now face disciplinary action as a result of charges of careless driving.
