An American university has appointed two new leaders for its College of Dental Medicine.
Midwestern University has appointed to dental experts to head-up its new school of dentistry in Arizona.
Kathleen Goeppinger, University president, announced that Russell Gilpatrick and Richard Simonsen would be taking charge of the new college and its 111 students.
Professor Gilpatrick will be the new dean at the College of Dental Medicine and Professor Simonsen, a founding dean of the college, is to be the senior consultant of dental education.
In the past, Professor Gilpatrick worked for four years as the dean of the University of Tennessee’s dental school and was assistant dean at Midwestern University.
Professor Goeppinger said that Professor Simonsen had been instrumental for the assembly of the faculty and in the recruitment of students. Among other things, Professor Simonsen will be working to create a new degree in dental hygene.
The university is now currently building a dental clinic large enough o host 244 people.
