Staff at a Portsmouth dental clinic dressed-up as tooth fairies to raise money for people who suffer with dementia.

Dentists, nurses and receptionists from the Trafalgar dental practices in Gosport and Portsmouth donned their wings and sprinkled fairy dust to raise more than £400 to pay for new equipment which can be used by dementia sufferers.

Dental staff at Rowner Health Centre and Brune Medical Centre raised £431 by approaching patients and holding a name the teddy competition.

Trafalgar head Samantha Smith said that all the funny looks from patients were worth it because of the amount of money that was raised.

The funds will be donated to Fenwick2 Health and Wellbeing Centre in Lyndhurst, which is a pioneer in terms of dementia assessment.

The centre plans to spend the donation on sport equipment and fun activities.

A not-for-profit company, Trafalgar provides local communities with NHS dentistry.
