Tooth Bus To Provide Free Dental Checks On The Isle Of Wight

Sample News Big

A mobile dental unit, known as the Tooth Bus, is touring the Isle of Wight to provide free dental checks as part of National Smile Month.

The Tooth Bus, which houses most of the equipment and instruments you would find in a traditional dental practice treatment room, will be visiting two sites on the island to offer free dental check-ups.

The dental van will be stationed at Sainsbury’s, Newport from the 20th May until the 25th May and it will then move on to Waitrose in East Cowes from the 28th May until the 1st June.

Residents on the island will be able to visit the Tooth Bus for a free dental health check and advice about oral hygiene, healthy eating and giving up smoking.

To contextualise what National Smile Month is; the aim is to improve standards of oral heath by encouraging people to take good care of their teeth and gums, visit their dentist for regular check-ups and keep an eye on their sugar consumption.

Members of staff on the bus will also be available to discuss local dental services with patients to encourage them to make use of the NHS services available to them.
