Children from a city in New York state could soon be benefiting from a new oral surgery centre if plans go ahead.

Tonawanda could soon see this new facility, that aims to serve kids’ oral and facial surgery needs, including children with special needs.

The centre, which is a collaboration between OMFS Properties LLC, Northtowns Oral & Maxillo Facial Surgery and Erie County Industrial Development Agency (IDA), is due to be set up on Young Street

Its primary focus will be to work with children from underserved children that lack adequate medical insurance as well as those special needs.

OMFS is seeking funding from the IDA to help it fund the $2.3 million projectm which will bring at least 10 new jobs to the area.

Northtowns Oral & Maxillo Facial Surgery already has facilities in Buffalo and Lockport and is affiliated with the University of Buffalo.

If funding for the Tonawanda centre is granted it will augment the Buffalo and Lockport facilities.
