A young mugger smashed a teenager’s two front teeth by attacking him with a rock and a Bruce Lee-style flying kick.

One of the victim’s teeth was pushed straight through his cheek during the attack which left him “disfigured” and “traumatised” according to his mother.

The victim, 17, needed 17 stitches inside and outside his mouth repair his wounds and his forehead had to be glued.

He was attacked at around 3:50am on Sunday 17 February 2010 while walking home on Streetly Lane in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.

His attacker, who is thought to be around the same age, approached him and began a conversation with him.

As they neared the junction with Park View Road the thug launched into the attack by hitting the victim with a rock and then using a martial arts kick on him.

The attacker then fled the scene with the SciPhone, similar in appearance to an iPhone, and some cash.

The victims mother said that these injuries could have been fatal if her son had fallen and hit his head.

West Midlands Police believe that the thug spoke of his kick-boxing skills and had a strong knowledge of the local area.

He is described as white, between 5ft8 and 5ft11, athletically built, with brown gelled hair and a recognisable broken-looking nose.

He was wearing two hooded jumpers; one black and the other had a squared grey and white pattern.
