Thousands register for new Isle of Sheppey dental practice

Thousands of people have registered for a new dental practice on the Isle of Sheppey.

Within seven weeks of opening, the team had already registered more than 3,000 patients, with some coming from as far as Essex to see a dentist.

The new practice has opened in Minster. A large, modern and spacious clinic, it occupies a prime site previously used to house parties and club nights. The historic Layzells nightclub at The Broadway closed in 2021 and the premises were promptly snapped up by South Cliff Dental Group.

The practice offers both NHS and private dental care and there are currently spaces available for both types of patients. Practice manager, Hannah Crane, has urged anyone who wishes to make an appointment to contact reception as soon as possible, as spaces are filling up fast and there will be a wait for routine appointments as more patients join. There are set timeframes to complete more complex courses of treatment, meaning that those wanting to book a check-up may have to wait a few weeks.

The clinic houses eight surgeries and offers a wide range of general and restorative services for NHS patients and additional treatments for private patients. The team comprises two dentists, one locum dentist, four dental therapists, twelve dental nurses and a private hygienist. There are plans to add another dental therapist and more dental nurses very soon. The practice’s locum dentist specialises in implantology and consultations for implant treatment are filling up quickly for the summer.
Anyone who wishes to register is encouraged to contact the practice as quickly as possible.
