Police officers in Derby have appealed for information in connection with a robbery at a dental practice in Bishops Drive.

CCTV images show a thief breaking into Oakwood Dental Centre on the afternoon on Sunday 24th July. The male, who was wearing a hooded top and trousers with several straps, broke in through a window and proceeded to take a petty cash tin and a charity collection box.

PC Jodie Coombes, who is investigating the incident, asked anyone who has any information about the theft or the suspect to come forward. The incident occurred at 4.10 pm on Sunday and it is believed that a single person was involved.

The thief took cash, but what was particularly distressing was that he also took a collection box for an ovarian cancer charity. Patients and members of the staff team at Oakwood Dental Centre have been fundraising for a good cause, and the money has now been stolen.

Anyone who has any information about the robbery is advised to get in touch with PC Coombes via the non-emergency 101 phone line or through the Contact Us section on the Derbyshire Police website. Even the most minor details could prove useful. The reference number of the incident is 16000207850.
