A dentist from Swindon has scooped a prestigious award for the third consecutive year. Patrick Holmes was awarded the multiple implant dentistry prize at the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards.

This is the third consecutive year Patrick has won the award, but he said that he was still delighted to win the prize, which was shared with technician, Johan Bernard, who made the teeth in the case study submitted by Patrick. The dentist, who works at Seven Fields Health Centre in Woodcutters Mews, has been practising aesthetic dentistry for 15 years and he has given hundreds of people beautiful, functional smiles.

Patrick said that it was a great honour to receive the award and lovely to know that the work he is doing is making a difference to other people. The awards are judged on clinical work and Patrick said that it is reassuring to know that trained professionals approve of the work he is doing.

Patrick reached a short-list of nine candidates from hundreds of applications and was awarded first prize at the awards ceremony at the Landmark Hotel in London on March 22nd.

Patrick was featured in the local press after granting a local man his Christmas wish; the dentist offered 29 year old Aaron Morrissey, who had suffered extensive dental damage at the age of 13, partial denture treatment free of charge. The treatment would normally have cost in the region of  £1,000.
